Former Scotland star James McFadden has joined Philadelphia Union on trial as he attempts to win a contract with the Major League Soccer outfit.
The 32-year-old has been a free agent since leaving St Johnstone in the close season and has been training with former club Motherwell in a bid to stay in shape.
However, the Tartan Army favourite has decided to try his luck in the States after being offered a two-week trial by Union head coach Jim Curtin.
Should he win a permanent deal, McFadden would join former Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu on the books of the Eastern Conference outfit.
As well as racking up 48 caps for Scotland, the mercurial forward has enjoyed two spells with Motherwell and stints south of the border with Everton, Birmingham and Sunderland.
