Raith Rovers boss Ray McKinnon insists Rangers are “on a different planet” from the rest of the Scottish Championship.
The Fifers will be the next side to attempt to derail the Gers juggernaut when they travel to Ibrox on Saturday.
Mark Warburton’s side boast a 100 per cent record in the league and have scored 30 goals in eight games in all competitions, leaving McKinnon under no illusions about the task that faces his side.
Rovers produced a decent showing in their 2-0 defeat at Easter Road last week but McKinnon is adamant an encounter against Rangers represents a massive step up from facing Hibs.
“They are one a different planet from anyone else in our league,” declared McKinnon.
“We will not define our season at Ibrox, but we will go there an vie absolutely everything we’ve got.
“But we can be a match for anyone in this league on our day when we have everyone on the park and playing well. That’s the mentality we will have for the rest of the season.
“Against Hibs last week – a team who could offer Wigan £200,000 for Billy McKay – there was no gulf in class so, even against Rangers, we will give it a really good go.” Â
