Axed Livingston chairman Gordon McDougall wins court order to freeze £13,000

Ousted Livingston chairman Gordon McDougall has won a court order to arrest £13,000 owed to him by the club.

The court of session in Edinburgh sided with McDougall yesterday over his attempt to recover that figure.

It is thought that sheriff officers will now attempt to serve that arrestment order on the Scottish Professional Football League.

McDougall has not been paid for six months

The Lions are expecting around £60,000 from the league body as part of four payments made from the SPFL during the course of the season.

McDougall, who was unavailable for comment, was ousted as club chairman last month after initiating legal proceedings over his debt.

The businessman has not been paid for the last six months after agreeing a deal with the club in 2013 to be given just over £2,000 per month as part of the £260,000 he loaned the Lions.

Only yesterday, McDougall claimed he was still lawfully the club’s chairman – despite Robert Wilson taking on that role on an interim basis.

Wilson’s appointment has been thrown into doubt after it was claimed that he had not been officially recognised as a club director in the first place.

Speaking on Thursday, McDougall said: “I have not left the club. Legal advice has been sought by me over the constitutional effectiveness and legality of the Livingston Football Club board who took this decision on this issue.”
