Former Scotland midfielder Ian Black last night made a shock appearance as a trialist for League Two side Berwick Rangers against Juniors outfit Haddington Athetic.
The 30-year-old was released by Rangers earlier this summer following an underwhelming three-year stint at Ibrox.
He made 111 appearances for the Gers but never recaptured the form he showed during spells at Hearts and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Now a free agent, Black recently stated that he was attracting suitors from England, with MK Dons and Preston North End among the side credited with an interest.
However, he is yet to sign a deal with a club and was a surprise inclusion for Colin Cameron’s part-timers at Millfield.
Black, who lined up alongside Cameron in midfield, was even credited with a goal in the friendly contest after closing down Haddington goalkeeper John Gilbertson and deflecting the ball into the net.
