Trio of bridesmaids pose naked on Forth Road Bridge in bid to win wedding prize

A TRIO of daring bridesmaids have made the ultimate sacrifice for their best friend – by posing naked on the Forth Road Bridge to win her a dream wedding.

The three girls stripped down on the busy bridge and posed with a sign just big enough to maintain their modesty.

They hope their stunt, which was performed in broad daylight, will help their friend win a £25,000 wedding at a 5-star hotel in St Andrews.

The competition has already seen the likes of Martin McKenna, a web designer in Glasgow, pose in a mankini in a bid to scoop the prize.

The ladies were a little taken aback by the modest dimensions of the sign

And the girls were determined their bride was not going to be upstaged.

Pictures show Jill Bray, Susie Fotheringham and Sarah Beveridge, from Livingston, West Lothian, taking it in turns to hold the sign and smile for the camera.

At one point they all managed to all squeeze behind the cutout, which barely covers their privates.

Their efforts were all for their best friend, 31-year-old Zoe Young, who hopes to marry Bryan Divitt-Conway, 40, at the lavish hotel in Scotland’s golf capital.

Zoe and Bryan, who have been together for almost ten years, have two children and even had a full wedding planned in 2012.

Unfortunately, the wedding had to be cancelled when their eldest was diagnosed with autism, and they now say this is their “last chance saloon” at getting married at some point in the near future.

Zoe said: “You know who your true friends are when they get naked on a bridge for you.

“We’ve all known each other for ages and it was so nice of them to do this for me – I think they were quite nervous.

“Me and Bryan getting married is the last missing piece in the puzzle and we would love to come in first place.”

Sarah, 33, said their stunt was carried out on a “freezing, rainy, windy day”.

“The weather was horrible and we were so cold,” she said.

“There was loads of traffic because it was lunchtime, and we got a good few toots from passers-by.

“Zoe came to support us and I think it was quite emotional for her – she did say we were crazy but that’s what best friends do.

“We all felt quite liberated afterwards. We’d do anything to get her this wedding – it would take them years to save up for one if they don’t get this.”

The competition, run by the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews and the Scottish Wedding Directory Magazine, challenges couples to get themselves noticed on social media.

The winning pair will be married on 29 April – William and Kate’s fifth wedding anniversary – and the package includes a designer wedding dress, a photographer and a wedding breakfast based on the royal couple’s wedding menu.

Other entrants have uploaded cute songs, romantic photographs and even home-made board games in a bid to win.

The winners will be announced on August 25.
