Falkirk manager Peter Houston has signed striker Bob McHugh on a two-year contract and dropped his interest in fellow forward Paul Heffernan.
McHugh, who left Mothewell earlier this summer, has landed a deal after impressing Houston during pre-season.
The 23-year-old scored four goals in two games during the Bairn’s recent trip to Ireland.
But Houston has decided against handing experienced former Hibs and Kilmarnock striker Heffernan terms.
Houston said: “Bob McHugh has come in and I’ve signed him on a two-year contract.
“He went down with flu so that’s why we left him out of the Hamilton match on Wednesday.
“I won’t be offering Paul a deal, he did quite well for us and I spoke to him on Monday.
“He is a great professional and a very clever player, and three years ago it would not even be a question in terms of trying to sign him
“With John Baird up front, I feel we need more pace alongside him.
“I’m still looking to strengthen even further and it’s a working progress.”
