SINCE 2012 the Glasgow Philharmonia Orchestra has established itself as one of the leading youth orchestras in Glasgow.
And now for the first time they are set to play in Scotland’s capital, taking up residence at Greyfriars Kirk on Wednesday 17 June.
Their classical programme will see the Edinburgh audience “flown on a cultural journey”, with the Orchestra performing “the most challenging and diverse repertoire to date.”
The orchestra’s recent sell out concert saw them collaborating with West End stars, performing West End and Broadway Hits.
They have also performed Popular Music and Classical repertoire but conductor and founder Ross Gunning wishes to push boundaries even further.
He said: “Spreading our wings to Edinburgh with the Orchestra has been the ambition from the start. Armed with challenging repertoire, we’re completely prepared to tackle the Edinburgh Classical Music scene.
“Giving our players one of the most demanding repertoire on the planet – especially Petrushka is the best musical challenge for them. To perform in front of a live audience is the most wonderful experience they could wish for and for the audience witnessing some of the most talented young performers in Scotland “
