Islay’s Single Malt Marathon, rated one of the most scenic in the UK, is now open for registration with only 100 spaces available.
The first Isay Marathon was held last year – a point-to-point 26.2 mile challenge taking in the rugged beauty of the island.
This year’s marathon will be held on September 20th and is open to anyone looking for a challenge.
Along the unique route runners will enjoy whitewashed seaside villages, rugged rock-strewn beaches, a shimmering loch and a ramble through the moors.
The marathon will be limited to the first 100 to register. Once that number is reached, a wait list will be created for 20 more runners.
Each finisher received a most interesting medal – handcrafted by an islander while a ceilidh will be held the evening after the marathon.
