A POWERFUL bow, complete with a telescopic sight, has been stolen from a parked car.
The “highly dangerous” bow – capable of firing an arrow at more than 200mph – was stolen in Kirkcaldy, Fife, at the weekend.
The compound PSE Supra Pro Series bow, an Eastern quiver containing approximately 20 arrows and a waterproof desert camouflage jacket were all taken.
The bow is black and red in colour with a single cam at the bottom and a telescopic sight attached. The arrows are about 28 inches in length and can reach a speed of 300 ft/sec.
Officers are now urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.
The owner has also offered a £100 reward for the return of the items.
Police Constable John Weir from the Kirkcaldy Community Wards Policing Team said: “This is a professional competition bow, which is very powerful and has amour piercing capability.
“Whoever has it may not know how powerful it is.
“The owner is a member of Archery Clubs, which have safety protocols in place for its use. It is highly dangerous and must be handled by an expert.
“We are very concerned about the whereabouts of this bow and are appealing for its quick return.”
The incident happened in Caithness Place between 10pm Friday 6th March and 10 am Saturday 7th March.
