DAVID Walliams was yesterday pictured still wearing his wedding ring, despite his recent split from model Lara Stone.
The comedian visited Castleview Primary School in Edinburgh during a stop-off for World Book Day.
He could be seen smiling and waving as he exited his private helicopter, and posed for jovial snapshots.
According to reports, his wife of 5-years left their home in London on Tuesday night, taking their 22-month-old son, Alfred, and the family dog, Bert, with her.
Pictures have emerged of the Danish beauty in the days before the split, showing her looking downcast and forlorn.
Meanwhile, David visited a total of six schools across the UK on Thursday to celebrate the unofficial literary holiday.
Friends of the former Little Britain star revealed that he’s trying to use the best remedy he knows to get him through the tumultuous times.
A source said: “He is trying to continue laughing and joking but on the inside he is very emotional. He doesn’t want a broken marriage and would love to get back together.”
David and Lara began dating in September 2009 after David took her to a Chelsea football match – with the funnyman later filling her home with flowers.
Their relationship began after Lara’s now-beaten battle with alcoholism following a stint in rehab in 2009.
Lara told Dutch Vogue she was ‘very nervous’ on their first date but soon knew they shared a ‘very mean sense of humour’.
She said: “I’d forgotten to thank him for dinner so I sent him a text. You know what he wrote back? “Who’s this?”
“I was shocked. I really thought he’d forgotten already. I only realised later he was joking. We have so much fun. I’m quite lucky.”
David proposed in Los Angeles in 2010, before marrying at London’s exclusive Claridges Hotel in May 2010 – with Lara wearing a £30,000 lace and satin dress.
