Fife crash victim named as pals pay tribute to their “great friend”

A YOUNG father has died of injuries he suffered in a road crash three days ago.

Adam Maxwell, a panel beater from Buckhaven, Fife, was involved in a collision with a 4X4 towing a horse box.

The 27-year-old was airlifted to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, where he died from his injuries on Thursday night.

The accident happened on a country road near Cupar on Wednesday morning when Mr Maxwell’s Vauxhall Nova collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by an 80-year-old woman, who was uninjured.

Friends of Mr Maxwell who had a young son and owned a car repair company, paid tribute to him on Facebook.

Leah Woods said: “Tragic news. Thoughts are with family and friends. Always remember you buzzing about the car park. Take care Adam. Taking too soon.”

And Martin Bray added: “Such a loss to a wee community a true gent…A great friend to many….Would do anything for anyone as long as there was modifying involved….RIP BUDDY.”

Mr Maxwell was an active member of motor racing groups around round Fife and often attended car shows at races.
