POLICE are investigating after the body of a man was found in a flat in Edinburgh.

The man, named by locals as Steven Craig, was found dead in his home at around on 7.50pm on Monday.

Friends, who asked not to be named, suggested the 43-year-old may have died from a drug overdose.

Friends and neighbours of Mr Craig were shocked by his death.

One woman, who asked not to be named, said: “Bless his soul. I can’t believe it’s him.

“I saw the ambulance and police here last night but I didn’t think it was him. Poor Stevie.”

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police were contacted by the Scottish Ambulance Service to attend an address where a male occupant was found to be deceased.

“Police are currently treating this death as unexplained and officers remain at the scene meantime while inquiries continue.”
