Police recover drugs worth thousands

Drugs have been recovered at a house after police received a tip-off from a member of the public.

The house in Glenkindie, Alford was searched by officers from Aberdeenshire Proactive Unit who found that cannabis plants were being grown.

The recovered drugs would have been worth in excess of £20,000 had they been sold on.

Following the drug search, a 53 year-old male is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.

Constable Martin Robertson from the Unit said, “Once again, we have shown our commitment to our local communities by responding to the information they have provided to us.

“I would urge anyone who believes they may have information regarding those involved in the supply of illegal drugs to contact Grampian Police.”
