JUDGING by his school day photograph, Scots author Ian Rankin was always a fan of the written word.
The 51-year-old tweeted a snap of his ten-year-old self taking part in a poem recital at his former primary school.The crime writer shared the memory with his 28,000 followers yesterday after a visit to his hometown of Cardenden in Fife.
Rankin was given the snap by the head teacher at his old school
He tweeted: “At my old primary school today, the Head gave me a photo from a Burns recital circa 1971. One face seemed very familiar.”
The young Rankin is instantly recognisable in the forty year old photograph and the Rebus creator seemed to enjoy visiting his former hometown, tweeting some of his journey.
He said: “Drove past Auld Hoose. And Goth, now confusingly named Central, while Central (of old) looked shut.”
