Innis & Gunn appoints David Cockburn as CFO

INDEPENDENT speciality brewer, Innis & Gunn, has recruited David Cockburn as their CFO – the company’s second major appointment since it announced in December that it was doubling its workforce.

David (41), who was voted ‘2010 Scottish Dealmaker of the Year’ by Scottish Business Insider, now joins the Board full-time; previously, he advised the Board, where he played a key role in the development and strategy of the business after the MBO in 2008.

Before moving to Innis & Gunn, David had accrued nineteen years’ experience in two world-leading professional services firms: PricewaterhouseCoopers and latterly Grant Thornton, where he was made partner in 2006.

He specialised in Corporate Finance and has been involved in over 100 corporate transactions across a variety of sectors and countries includingAustralia,Spain,Greece, North America andSouth Africa, where he worked for three years.

David has an Honours degree in Accountancy and Economics from the University of Glasgow and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland in 1995.

He follows in the footsteps of Lucy Cross, who was recruited as Marketing Manager shortly after the multi-award-winning brewer launched its largest single recruitment drive to increase the head count from 12 to 25.

Ranked number four in sales volume and value in the specialty beer category in the UK off-trade, Innis & Gunn has enjoyed average growth of 49% YoY since its formation in 2003.

It is the best-selling British bottled beer inCanada, and number two bottled import ale inSweden.
