CARD skimming devices have been discovered at cash machines in East Lothian.
An engineer alerted police at around 2.30pm yesterday (Thursday) after discovering a device attached to an RBS ATM at the ASDA in Spott Road, Dunbar.
Officers removed it from the machine and say it could have been on the machine for two days.
Anyone who used the ATM during this period is urged to check their bank account for any irregularities.
A member of the public then contacted police after seeing two men acting suspiciously around the cash machine at the TESCO petrol station inTanatallon Road, North Berwick around 4pm.
When officers arrived they found that the machine had been tampered with and are now urging anyone who saw these men to get in touch.
Both suspects are described as white, 25-35-years-old, with short brown hair. They were wearing dark jackets and spoke with Eastern European accents.
A police spokesman said: “We are currently investigating whether both these incidents are linked and anyone with information that can assist with our enquiries is asked to come forward immediately.
“Anyone who has used these cash machines in the past few days should contact their bank and report any fraudulent activity to police.”
