A TEENAGE boy was left with a broken leg after being hit by a driver who then failed to stop.
The 13-year-old was crossing the road with a group of friends when the hit-and-run incident happened at around 7.40pm on Wednesday in Newburgh, Fife.
The male driver – believed to have been in a silver Vauxhall Astra estate car – was alone in the vehicle and did not stop or report the incident.
Police are appealing for him to come forward and for any one with information to contact them.
PC Barry McQueen, who is leading the enquiry, said: “The vehicle involved clipped the young lad as he was almost across the road.
“He sustained a broken leg as a consequence of the collision.
“The male driver of the car was unaccompanied and failed to stop or report the accident.
“I would appeal to him to come forward.
“I would also appeal to anybody who has any information regarding this accident or the vehicle involved to call Fife Police on 0845 600 5702 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
