AN eight-year-old girl who saved her mums life has said how she was “nervous” when going to collect a bravery award.

Leah Grant, from Linlithgow, West Lothian, helped her mum when she was having a epileptic fit in November 2009.

The quick-thinking youngster, who was only seven at the time, checked her mum’s pulse and that she was still breathing before dialing 999.

When the paramedics arrived, the youngster provided them with helpful information for them to be able to treat her mum.

Leah today (wed) received a Meritorious Award from Lothian and Borders Police for her bravery.

She received her award from Chief Constable David Strang.
