ONE OF Scotland’s best-known whisky distilleries is on the move.
The Glenmorangie Company is moving both its headquarters and bottling plant to new sites this month to “reinforce” the company.
Tomorrow sees the employees at the headquarters moving into a new office space in the centre of Edinburgh.
Previously based in Broxburn, West Lothian, the offices on Leith Street are just a stone’s throw away from Princes Street and Waverley station.
The company’s chief executive said that the move will allow them to hold on to and gain the “best people” and give the company a better link to the rest of the country.
Also on the move from the Broxburn site is the company’s bottling plant which will open up at The Alba Campus in Livingston later this month.
The state of the art Production Centre has been purpose built and will allow the company to increase the production of Glenmorangie and Ardbeg whisky to meet the demand they anticipate from Asia, Europe and the USA as the market grows.
Chief Executive Paul Neep said: “As an international Company we are highly focused on growing our world-renowned premium single malt Scotch whisky brands – Glenmorangie and Ardbeg.
“We are very excited about our move into central Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city.
“We believe it will help to reinforce the direction of our Company and to retain and recruit the best people.”
The company chose The Cube as the site for their new offices because of “excellent transport links and amenities”, saying it was “an obvious choice”.
The complex, designed by Allan Murray Architects and owned by German real estate company IVG, has been built to high environmental standards.
Glenmorangie said that they have also made “significant investment” at both their distilleries in Tain and Islay.
