LOCALS are at a loss after razor blades have been found wedged into holes dug on the Leith Links.
Residents warned each other of the danger to dogs and children who frequent the park, as the large holes were seen to be scattered with multiple dangerous blades.
This comes just days after multiple parks in Edinburgh were damaged by off-road vehicles, leaving behind them trails of mud and doughnut rings of torn grass.
One picture shows at least seven silver blades amongst the dirt, as multiple holes have reportedly been seen to contain the sharp objects.
One local posted to social media yesterday, warning others of the traps: “Holes dug at Leith Links with razor blades put inside.
“Really concerning for kids and dogs so take care while going through the park.
“I don’t know what has gotten into people these days.”
The picture attached shows a hole about two feet wide, with the offending blades thrown –seemingly on purpose – inside.
The post received 185 likes and over 50 comments as residents were up in arms about the threat this poses to the many people who walk through the Leith Links every day.
One user said: “Horrible thing to do when it’s known it’s kids who play there, my grandson likes going up the hill and climbs into that hole”
Another replied: “The fact I was walking my dog here just hours ago in the dark too.
“Luckily he was okay but hope no one gets hurt.”
A third responded: “Who even does s**t like this?
“There’s some strange folk around here.
“Thanks for sharing and hopefully no kids or dogs were harmed by this.”
Another exclaimed: “Oh my god you need to be really tapped to do this.
“That’s psychopath danger to society behaviour.”
And a fifth commented: “Oh my goodness, how awful and so cruel.”
It is unclear whether these incidents have been reported.
