POLICE Scotland road officers are appealing for information after an 89-year-old woman was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car.
Emergency services were called to Howden Hall Road near the junction with Alnwickhill Road in the south of Edinburgh at around 2:20pm last Thursday.
It seems that the 89-year-old pedestrian was struck by a Land Rover – the driver of which was not injured.
Police urged the public to avoid the area while investigations were carried out, which took three hours.

The woman was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh to be treated for serious injuries.
Sergeant Fraser Mitchell said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who may have dash-cam or private CCTV footage that could assist our enquiries to contact us.”
The police have confirmed that anyone with information should contact 101 quoting reference 1901 of 6 February 2025.
