Revealed: The unlikely Edinburgh locations set to be used for the filming of Good Omens finale

AVID Good Omens fans have discovered two unlikely locations in the Scottish capital set to be used in the show’s finale.

Yesterday, Edinburgh-based fans confirmed that they had been notified of filming taking place soon, around the Newington area.

Filming will soon begin for the show’s last hurrah, which will be a single 90-minute episode as opposed to a full season.

This comes after Good Omens author Neil Gaiman was forced to step down from his role as executive producer on the show due to serious allegations of sexual assault made against him last year.

Good Omens, starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant, is a fantasy comedy series based on the 1990 novel by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, called Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch.

Production of its third series was underway when allegations were first made against Gaiman, by four women who participated in an investigation by the Tortoise podcast, Master

A further four women came out against him earlier this year, accusing the writer of sexual misconduct, sexual assault, and coercion.

Now, the show will end with one last episode, with which Gaiman has no further involvement, along with his production company Blank Corporation.

Fans have spotted two tucked-away Edinburgh locations where the show is set to be filmed – Meadow Lane and Hope Park Crescent.

Hope Park Crescent is also home to much-loved second-hand bookseller, Tills Bookshop, to which prominent filmmaker Guillermo del Toro coincidentally paid a visit during the filming of Frankenstein last year.

Meadow Lane is just around the corner and shows off Edinburgh’s distinctive architecture, already a staple of the Good Omens series.

Filming for the series is also taking place at Pyramids Studios in West Lothian, which was previously used for T2 Trainspotting.
