A MALFUNCTIONING car horn made for a very irritating morning for some Glasgow residents after it was left blasting continuously from the early hours onwards.
The faulty Peugeot’s horn began sounding in a car park in the city’s Mannering Court area yesterday at around 4am and reportedly continued for hours until around 1pm.
Rudely awakened residents were left furious by their disturbed slumber, with the vehicle gathering several angry notes whilst its horn sounded.
Eventually the malfunctioning car stopped blasting its horn, but the respite was brief, with the issue starting up again at 5pm.
A social media post regarding the broken car was made by an infuriated local yesterday with the caption: “Car horn in Mannering Court (Shawlands) has been sounding since 4am.
“A long shot but this car has kept us all up since 4am and the noise is still going. License plate: MT11 EBG.
“The car has about four angry notes on it already, but I’m worried the owner is away.
“If anyone knows the owner of the car or has any advice, please let me know, I’m losing my mind.”
The post received over 50 likes and more than 40 comments from social media users giving recommendations on how to address the issue.
One user wrote: “Peugeots and electrical faults: like salt and vinegar.”
Another replied: “A car parked across our drive a few months ago, I called the non-emergency police number, and they called the owner and it was dealt with within the hour.”
A third said: “Pan window, pop bonnet, disconnect battery, get sleep.”
Another added: “I’d be tempted to find the horn location from underneath the front and try disconnect it.”
A fifth commented: “That is some battery to be going that long.”
