Sustainability experts join forces to help close the green skills gap

SUSTAINABILITY experts have announced a new partnership to combat the green skills gap in the construction sector and move towards net zero.

Sustainabuild, the networking community for a net zero carbon built environment, aims to work alongside sustainability training provider The Verdancy Group to improve access to the knowledge and network that individuals from across the sector need for the net zero transition.

The construction industry in the UK is facing a skills shortage, with efforts to decarbonise the built environment being held back by the lack of necessary green skills and knowledge.

Combining Sustainabuild’s network with The Verdancy Group’s focus on sustainability training, the partnership aims to close the green skills gap by empowering individuals with the practical skills and knowledge they need to deliver sustainability.

“Partnering with The Verdancy Group allows us to enhance our existing education and learning offerings, and add valuable new practical and professional development paths for our community.

“Through this partnership we hope to inspire and train a new generation of sustainability leaders, who will turn knowledge into action, creating positive change for the future of building and construction.”

Steven Kiakowski, managing director of The Verdancy Group, said: “Partnerships are key to driving sustainability, and education is the foundation of a sustainable future.

“By partnering with Sustainabuild, we can broaden our impact and help bridge the gap in green skills, ensuring that individuals and organisations working in the built environment are equipped to meet the challenges that net zero brings.”
