WATCH the horrifying moment a boy on a bike deliberately spooks a horse being ridden by a five-year-old girl, leaving her in tears.
Taggy the horse was out with owner Emma and her daughter Hattie last Wednesday, when they were followed by a bike rider through a housing estate in Driffield, East Riding of Yorkshire.
After reportedly skidding and pulling wheelies near the pony, Emma allegedly warned the youngster off – but he responded by spooking the animal once more, causing it to panic and Hattie to burst into tears.
Taggy is five-year-old Hattie’s pony but is regularly seen at events and children’s parties as a “real life unicorn” as part of Emma’s company, the East Yorkshire Pony Party Company.
The youngster was riding him for fun along the residential street, led by Emma, when they came across the boy on his bike.
He reportedly started skidding and wheelieing around Taggy, with Emma telling him to stop twice.
Emma can be heard saying: “Do you want to stop doing that, because you’re frightening the pony, and he’s got a little girl on him.”
However, he keeps going which spooks Taggy, subsequently causing Emma to lose her grip on his harness and nearly knocking Hattie to the ground as she screams in terror.
Emma angrily shouts: “Idiot. Are you happy now? You’ve done that three times. You’ve done that three times.”
Taggy slows down as Hattie can be heard crying, saying that she wants to get off, and Emma comforts her as the boy rides off with a mate in tow.
The video was shared to social media on Wednesday with the caption: “So tonight we came across an individual who thought it was acceptable to follow us down the street on his bike skidding and wheeling near our pony when we were hacking out for his own entertainment whilst my five-year-old girl was on him.
“Despite me asking him to stop twice he came back for a third time resulting in Taggy reacting and not only terrifying my daughter but shaking up me and Taggy too.
“We can have the most confident bomb proof ponies, but they are animals and sometimes it all gets too much.
“Luckily Hattie managed to stay on and was only shaken up, but this could have ended a lot worse than it did.”
It has since received over 28,000 likes and more than 1,700 comments from Brits quick to share their thoughts.
Whilst sympathy was rife, many were also quick to slam Emma for taking Taggy through a residential area rather than paths or fields.
One said: “Why in the name of God were you in a housing estate with a horse? You asked for that one love.”
A second wrote: “I would’ve kicked him off his bike if I saw that happening.”
Another commented: “All these commenters must have missed the housing estates popping up in the countryside on the fields horses live in.”
A fourth said: “People ever think some people don’t have access to fields or bridleways to ride on, and going through an estate might be the only way to reach an off-road path?
“This tool has been past them three times.”
Another added: “Swear to God, the people in these comments defending some little scrote (sic) antagonising a horse with a child on it need to get their heads checked.
“Also check the Highway Code while you’re at it you morons.”
