WATCH the hilarious moment a cheeky workman blasts Queen’s hit song I Want to Break Free for a van full of prisoners.
The workman was a passenger in a van in central London yesterday when he and the driver pulled up alongside a prisoner transport van at a set of red lights.
Seeing an opportunity to wind up the occupants of the heavily armoured vehicle, the pair decided to play the aptly named 1984 hit – prompting what seemed to be an angry response from those inside the van.
Video filmed by the workie shows the inside of the van as they sit idly at the set of traffic lights.
The dashboard is lit up, showing a map of the city and the song currently playing.
Right as the tune crescendos to its chorus, the workman swings his camera round to film the van next to them, lined with small windows for each individual cell inside.
Freddie Mercury’s vocals can then be heard as the singer belts: “I want to break free.”
A chorus of muted thuds can then be heard, appearing to be the occupants of the cells making their distaste for the song clear.
The workman and his colleague chuckle to themselves as the banging continues, with the prisoners inside helpless to the piss-taking workies’ jibes.
As Freddie Mercury repeats the line, “I want to break free”, the workman filming jokes: “No you’re not.”
On-screen text over the video reads, “Don’t think they liked it” with two laughing emojis.
The footage, shared to social media yesterday, was captioned: “Bro really picked this song to blast next to a prison van in London.”
It has since received over 900 likes and dozens of comments from social media users left in stitches by the prank.
