“Classy move”: Brits applaud Arsenal after club makes move to supply free sanitary products for women at home ground

ARSENAL have received praise amongst Brits online after the club made a move to supply free sanitary products in the women’s bathroom at the Emirates.

The snap was captured during the Gunners’ match against Southampton at their home ground on Saturday when a woman spotted the products on offer for free in the ladies’ bathroom.

An image of a plastic box filled with sanitary products and accompanied by a sign explaining they are free was shared by the woman to social media.

The large red sign hanging above the clear plastic box reads: “We don’t believe you should pay for these products. Please take what you need.”

The large bold, block capital lettering is accompanied by an Arsenal logo making it clear the products are on offer from the club.

The plastic tub under the sign is filled to the brim with sanitary products for women to take and use as needed.

The picture quickly gained popularity online amongst Brits who called it a classy move and applauded the Premier League side for the products which usually have to be paid for.

The post was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Arsenal are offering free sanitary products for supporters in the female bathrooms.

“A classy move by Arsenal. It would be great to see more clubs follow suit.”

It has since received over 2,700 likes and more than 390 comments from social media users.

One user wrote: “I know for a fact [West Ham’s] London Stadium hasn’t provided running water in the ladies toilets on a number of occasions so can’t see this any time soon there.”

Another replied: “Thank you for highlighting this and well done Arsenal but actually, they are following the lead of many clubs across the leagues who do this already.

“But the more the better.”

A third said: “Scotland provides them all year round, the first country (that’s right) to do so.”

Another commented: “Most clubs don’t have the funding they have.”

A fifth added: “You barely get hot water in the toilets at my club.”
