A TAXI driver has recorded himself chastising a man in the back of his cab after allegedly chasing him and a friend down and beating them for trying to escape without paying.
The two men reportedly ran away from the taxi driver without paying for their ride last Saturday.
They were allegedly driven from Liverpool city centre to Warrington, a distance of about 20 miles, before jumping from the taxi and trying to escape paying their fare.
However, the determined cabby refused to let them get away with it and reportedly chased the two men down and beat them.
The cabby then allegedly took one of the men back towards the centre of Liverpool, dropping him off next to the M62 motorway near Huyton.
Shocking footage, filmed by the taxi driver, shows one of the men in the back of the cab, blood streaming from his face.
The cabbie can be heard on the video hurling abuse at the man calling him various names including “little ferret.”
He fumes: “You won’t f***ing do that again will you, you little b****nd, I’ll smash your f***ing head right in.”
The man, rubbing blood from his nose and face, tries to protest but is shouted down by the enraged taxi driver.
The taxi driver continues: “Na, you’re a f***ing divvy lad, look at you, you f***ing p***k, why didn’t you just pay me? Just pay me.”
The fare dodger protests, “Because you haven’t got a card-” but the taxi driver is hearing none of it.
He says: “What, you haven’t got a card? So what, you think I’m just driving you from Liverpool do you?”
The fare dodger protests again, “Who’s not got a card machine in a cab like this?” before the taxi driver lunges towards him.
The shocking video was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “A taxi driver mate took two lads from Liverpool city centre to Warrington last Saturday.
“They did a runner. He chased them down, knocked one out and got the other back in the cab, after giving him a few digs of course.
“Dropped him off on the Huyton turnoff [on] the M62.”
The video has since received over 8,500 likes and more than 210 comments from shocked social media users who slammed the driver for his reaction.
One user wrote: “Seems really smart to produce this evidence.”
Another commented: “That’s his badge gone then.”
A third replied: “Taxi driver needs his license revoking and a few months inside to be honest.”
Another said: “Lost your job with that one mate, good one getting a few in over the fare but now you have no income well done.”
A fifth added: “Get him to drop you at a cash machine? Done this many times.”
