A WOMAN has continued to be threatened with investigation by the BBC’s TV licencing team despite allegedly proving twice over the past four years that she doesn’t watch TV.
Taylor, from Lincolnshire, received yet another threatening letter from the BBC’s TV licencing team on Wednesday.
This comes despite her claim that she has proven to enforcement officers twice before that she doesn’t watch live TV – seemingly even letting them into her house to prove it.
The single mum slammed the TV licensing body after receiving the letter, accusing them of bullying her and concluding that she won’t even bother opening the door for them come next visit.
The letter she received warned that officers would be making a visit to her home in the coming weeks.
It states that an official investigation into her address has been opened as there is no record of there being a TV licence associated with the address.
This comes despite the single mother notifying the TV licensing body that she does not require a licence.
The letter goes on to threaten Taylor with fines of up to £1,000 and visits from enforcement officers.
Furious, Taylor took to social media to share the letter on Wednesday, writing: “I received this today despite proving twice that I don’t watch any live TV.
“I’m a single mum so they love to send big men to my house who walk in and want to look at my TV.
“I’m thinking next time I will not even open the door as I’m sick of having my privacy violated all because I don’t want to give a bunch of p****s my money.
“I haven’t watched live or catch-up TV in four years. Go f**k yourself BBC.”
Taylor’s rant has since received over 12,000 likes and more than 3,400 comments from fuming social media users.
One user wrote: “This practice of TV licenses has always baffled me. Very Big Brother vibes.”
Another replied: “Honestly, it seems like the UK is just a joke country.”
A third added: “I call them every year to let them know I don’t require one.”
