Undercover police officer’s aggressive argument with commuters nearly ends in tears after he threatens crowd with pepper spray

AN undercover police officer has been recorded aggressively threatening commuters with pepper spray.

The undercover officer, who is alleged to be part of the British Transport Police (BTP), was operating in Stratford train station in London, yesterday.

He was dragged into an argument with a group of commuters which nearly ended in tears when he drew a can of pepper spray on the crowd.

Outraged at being threatened with a weapon, commuters began filming and arguing with the officer, escalating the situation dangerously as his colleagues tried to talk him down.

The crowd was shocked by the officers intimidating actions.

Video footage emerging from the station shows the copper pointing his pepper spray at the crowd while shouting and warning them that he will use the weapon.

Commuters remain undeterred by the threat however and begin trying to shout the officer down, even threatening him.

One of the men recording the incident shouts to the copper’s undercover colleagues: “Calm him down before something happens to him.”

The officer’s colleagues then attempt to move him away from the crowd and talk him down but he remains aggressive, shouting at the onlookers to: “Move back. Move back or I’ll spray you.”

The officer and his colleagues back into the station with the crowd following them and accosting them.

They shout at the officers, outraged that they were threatened, demanding that the pepper spray is put away.

The crowd repeatedly shouts that the officer can’t threaten them with a weapon, as one man can be heard jeering: “You’re not bad, you’re not bad.”

Following the copper into the station, the man recording walks up to him and demands he identifies himself.

The police officer, pepper spray still in hand, replies simply, “3301” without providing further details.

The man filming accosts the officer, stating: “You can’t just push minors like that, you’re lucky you didn’t do that to me.”

The argument continues with the crowd employing a megaphone and the officers banding together to defend one another.

Officers continue to escalate the situation as more begin to argue with members of the public who get involved, with the incident devolving into a full-scale shouting match.

Video footage of the tense confrontation was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “An undercover British Transport Police officer uses pepper spray to get members of the public to back off in Stratford, London.”

It has since received over 165 likes and dozens of comments from social media users shocked at the officers’ actions.

One user said: “Are all undercover policemen overweight? Just asking.”

Another wrote: “Bought it [pepper spray] from Temu.”

A third replied: “Are these police officers mentally stable? because it’s looking like they really are not. Where on bloody Earth is the police commissioner?

“There’s so much trash going on under his watch.”

Another commented: “This officer is dangerously out of control.”

A fifth added: “He’s no undercover BTP.”
