WATCH as an entitled man’s repeated attempts to walk through the scene of an accident are thwarted by a “remarkably tolerant” police officer.
The area around Parliament Square in Westminster was cordoned off by police yesterday after a cyclist was hit by a vehicle.
Already heavy with crowds due to demonstrations taking place, officers tirelessly keeping protestors away from the scene faced another stubborn obstacle as one “clown” remained insistent on walking through despite being told otherwise.
The footage, filmed by an onlooker, shows the bloke, wearing a cap and covering his face, attempting to argue with the uniformed officer.
Clad in a yellow t-shirt and black trousers, he can be seen holding a tripod with his phone attached and recording.
Brits online believed the nuisance to be an “auditor” – an individual who takes footage at businesses or scenes where police are present in attempts to demonstrate their legal rights.
The officer can be heard explaining why the road is closed, and gestures for the bloke to move along.
He tries to walk around, but is blocked by the officer sidestepping in front of him.
The man can later be seen at a different point in the road trying to get through, but is met with the same officer, who doesn’t look impressed.
This time though, he is joined by a colleague who comes over holding a roll of police tape.
He points into the distance and the bloke finally takes the hint, walking away from the scene.
Further footage shows part of the area heavily taped off with multiple layers of police tape, however it is unclear if this is to protect the accident scene or keep protestors – and the man failing to take a telling – to a specific zone.
Both a pro-Brexit demonstration and an anti-globalisation rally appeared to be taking place.
The video was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “This masked idiot wants to go tramping through the accident scene.
“Giving the remarkably tolerant officer a hard time.”
It has since received over 340 likes and a host of comments from Brits keen to share their own opinions on the “muppet”.
One said: “What an absolute idiot. Officer doing a sterling job by tolerating the clown.”
A second wrote: “Perhaps the masked man is a bank robber, certainly looks like he’s got something up his jumper. Not much between the ears though. What a muppet.”
Another commented: “Should’ve been nicked for obstruction.”
A fourth said: “I start thinking that many ‘auditors’ give the public-control activities a bad name.”
Another added: “There’s always one a******e that has to argue the toss.”
Another said of the officer’s cordon job: “That is a work of art, I’m guessing they had a surplus of tape needing to be used up.”
