Shocking moment hooded thug on e-bike grabs phone from unwitting pedestrian’s hand in lawless London

THIS is the shocking moment a hooded thug riding an e-bike on the streets of lawless London grabs the phone from a pedestrian’s hand before speeding off.

The thief was caught in the act on CCTV yesterday when he robbed a pedestrian on Park Lane in Westminster, Central London.

The thief, clearly an expert in his trade, didn’t miss a beat as he swooped by the unwitting bloke and plucked the mobile from his hands before taking off again.

The video shows a man, clad in a white cap and top with green trousers on, walking along the street minding his own business.

The victim didn't notice the thief sneaking up on him.
The victim didn’t notice the thief sneaking up on him.

He holds his phone in his hand and looks down at it, engrossed in the device as he walks, unaware of his surroundings.

The CCTV footage then shows a black clad figure on an e-bike riding up the road behind the man who doesn’t seem to notice the approaching robber.

The pedestrian remains blissfully unaware of the danger as the robber mounts the pavement and speeds up behind him.

The robber then slows down for a split second as he passes his victim, reaching out as he does so and grabbing the phone from the man’s hand.

Helpless to stop the thief, the pedestrian can do nothing but watch as the robber speeds off again on his e-bike with his phone in hand.

The brazen thief speeds out of sight as the victim watches on, having seemingly instantly accepted the loss of his mobile with a look of disappointment on his face.

The CCTV of the incident was shared to social media today with the caption: “Phone taken yesterday morning in London.”

The video has received over 1,300 likes and more than 50 comments from social media users.

One user said: “Hit the acceptance stage of grieving, instantly.”

Another wrote: “Gone and never to be seen again with no charges brought against him. It’s almost like it didn’t even happen.”

A third replied: “London becoming a place where you cannot even take your phone out anymore. Sad.”

Another added: “Didn’t even break his stride. A consummate professional and presumably owner of Apple care.”

A fifth commented: “You should never go wandering about with your phone like that, just asking for trouble.”
