ONE of the nation’s largest housing associations has been awarded a gold accreditation for its outstanding commitment to employee wellbeing.

Hanover Scotland has become the third Scottish housing association to be recognised by Investors in People with a gold award for the prestigious We Invest in Wellbeing accreditation.

The certification is a testament to the housing association’s drive of being proactive and having an engaging approach to enhancing the health and wellbeing of its teams.

By fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace, Hanover has demonstrated a profound commitment to enhancing the quality of life for its people, ensuring that wellbeing is interwoven into the fabric of its operations.

Angela Currie, CEO of Hanover Scotland, expressed her enthusiasm for the accolade, stating: “This Gold accreditation from Investors in People is not just a recognition of our existing efforts, but a catalyst for our future endeavours in enhancing employee wellbeing.”

“At Hanover, we believe that our people are our greatest asset, and this achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to their health and happiness.”

This accolade marks a significant step for Hanover in affirming its status as a leading, customer-focused provider in the social housing sector.

To obtain the significant accreditation, the organisation went through a meticulous assessment process by Investors in People, which focussed on various aspects of workplace wellbeing.

Hanover Scotland excelled across the board, particularly in areas such as leadership, support, and continuous improvement of wellbeing practices.

As part of their wellbeing initiatives, Hanover has developed a comprehensive wellbeing programme which includes a range of interactive initiatives and events, helping to support conversations on subjects such as mental wellbeing, financial wellbeing and menopause.

There has also been considerable investment in wellbeing support networks including a new employee assistance programme, a Perks platform, Health Cash Plan and Techscheme.

A newly developed Wellbeing SharePoint site also provides employees with easy access to resources and support across five wellbeing pillars.

The site also hosts recordings from wellbeing events and activities, ensuring all employees can engage with and benefit from the association’s wellbeing programmes.

The accolade underscores Hanover Scotland’s role as a pioneer in building a healthy, supportive, and dynamic workplace, significantly contributing to its strategic aim of providing exceptional social housing services.
