AVENGERS star Karen Gillan has jokingly pleaded to be case in a movie about the infamous Glasgow Willy Wonka experience.
The “immersive” experience supposedly took inspiration from the release of the Wonka film starring Timothee Chalamet, but the actual ticketed event fell well short of expectations.
Families had forked out up to £35 per ticket and travelled from as far as Newcastle to attend the event, only to be greeted by a scattering of lacklustre plastic props, a small bouncy castle and backdrops pinned against walls.
Now, Gillan, who starred as Nebula in both the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy is eyeing up a role if the disastrous day out comes to the silver screen.
The plea from the Doctor Who alum comes after more details of the ludicrous event in Whiteinch, Glasgow came to light over the past few days.
The 36-year-old Scot took to social media and put out a plea, writing: “Please cast me in this – like a movie based on this story, not the actual thing.
“Actually, no, either is fine.”
Her post received over 42,000 likes with hundreds of comments from social media users who were quick to comment on the experience.
One said: “To be fair they could literally cast anyone and it would be realistic, so in that case please cast me as well.”
Another added: “I can’t get enough of this story and I want a film/documentary so bad.”
A third replied: “Someone pitch this to producers immediately.”
Another commented: “This is the Willy Wonka movie I want to see.”
The script for the event, run by a company called House of Illuminati, was allegedly 15 pages of “AI gibberish” with actors being told to improvise their lines.
The company, ran by Glaswegian Billy Coull, also allegedly created a villain for the event named The Unknown who was to be “an evil chocolate maker who lives in the walls”.
Children who turned up expecting the wonderful world of Wonka were given just jellybeans and a quarter cup of lemonade.
Mr Coull has promised all attendees refunds but has yet to deliver them.
