WATCH the hilarious moment a police horse steals the show during an interview with a mounted officer.
Greatest Hits Radio spoke with PC Metcalf of the Thames Valley Police on Saturday to ask some questions about the lives of the horses.
However, PC Metcalf and his interviewer faced some unusual technical difficulties in the form of cheeky horse Atlas, who seemed to want his big moment in the spotlight.
The video shows the reporter speaking with PC Metcalf who introduces himself, saying: “I’m one of the constables here at the Thames Valley Police mounted section.”
However, before he can divulge any further information, the policeman is interrupted by the curious horse behind him, who takes a good hard sniff at the microphone.
The pair chuckle as PC Metcalf introduces Atlas, who continues to pester his handler throughout the rest of the interview.
The horse can be seen trying to nibble the microphone, bumping his head into PC Metcalf and generally making a nuisance of himself as the officer attempts to keep a straight face.
The interview goes through a series of cuts as the pair hilariously try to keep the show going despite the efforts of the attention-loving horse.
Eventually the reporter is forced to stop and hilariously offers the microphone to Atlas, asking the horse: “Do you want to be interviewed?”
Changing tactics, Atlas begins to rub PC Metcalf and push him around, seemingly finding any way he can to get his face in shot.
In doing so the large animal manages to barrel PC Metcalf back and forth across the stable as the cameraman struggles to keep up.
The video comes to an end with the officer and the reporter giving up and turning to give the spotlight-stealing horse the attention it’s been looking for.
The reporter once again offers to interview Atlas as PC Metcalf, speaking to Atlas, exclaims: “You’re a rascal, mate.”
The footage of the interview was shared to social media by Greatest Hits Radio on Saturday with the caption: “Police horse Atlas had a few things to say during our interview with Thames Valley Police’s Mounted Section”
The footage has gained over 119,000 likes and more than 840 comments from social media users finding Atlas’ antics hilarious.
One user said: “Do horses actually feel the need to like cuddle and stuff? Like, do they bond with humans in that kind of way?”
