Evri customer left fuming after over £1,000 worth of ornaments vanished from Evri hub

AN EVRI customer has been left fuming after more than £1,000 worth of ornaments allegedly vanished from the company’s delivery hub.

She feared that the eight horse figurines were lost when they vanished from the logistic firm tracking system.

She had posted the ornaments to a customer in the United States of America but just two days later received a notification informing her that the delivery had been labelled as “missing” by Evri.

The 39-year-old received a notification just two days later informing her that the delivery had been labelled as “missing” by Evri.

Alexandra from Hartlepool, County Durham, claims that she received confirmation by staff that the horses were lost in transit, and she was sent a claims form to complete.

However, she was left frustrated when that the link to the form didn’t work, and she faced being left meaning she has been left £1,050 out of pocket.

Alexandra says that the large package was sent to Evri’s international hub in Barnsley, South Yorkshire – with each of the ornaments microchipped – but that it suddenly disappeared from Evri’s tracking service.

Taking to social media yesterday, Alexandra made an online plea for anyone who had seen the parcel to come forward.

She wrote: “It reached Evri’s hub on the 3rd then the tracking stopped. Evri have declared it ‘missing’.

“The international hub is in the Midlands of the UK. If anyone sees this bunch of horses for sale, take screenshots immediately and contact me.

“A reward will be given for anyone who helps to locate them.”

The post received dozens of likes and comments from users who flocked to offer their thoughts and suggestions.

Adam Clark wrote: “Maybe worth doing some reverse Google Image searches of the horses every now and again.

“Also, I had a lost parcel show up about six months later – so there’s still a tiny bit of hope.”

Mike Jackson joked: “There’s neigh chance of getting those back.”

Andrew Mulroy added: “Did you get insurance through Evri?”

Matthew Evans said: “Sorry but if you’re the sender, this is your problem as everyone knows they are s**t.

“There have been enough TV programmes out there as to how corrupt they are – don’t need a social media group to tell you that.

“You will have to either refund the purchaser or re-make the model. If they are one-off, then they are gone.

“Evri probably don’t classify these as something they can send in their network, so best option is to sue them in court.”

Speaking to Alexandra today, she said: “I make and sell model horses/figurines that cost roughly £150 each.

“I started it as a hobby when I was 15. I just finished maternity leave and turned this into my full-time employed job.

“I sold a bunch on eBay. I sent this lot in one parcel as requested by eBay and it got to the national sorting hub and it has now gone ‘missing’.

“It was classed as missing officially by Evri yesterday. They were collected on the 1st and got to the international sorting hub on the 3rd when they went missing.

“I’m disgusted that, because the parcel was marked with a higher value, it has gone missing. The other 300 parcels sent that were marked with a lower value have all been fine.

“It’s a small business trying to grow and support my family in hard times. I now have to remake all the figures or refund the buyer. Each figure takes over 60 hours to make.

“It’s upsetting to think there is someone out there now who is going to benefit from my hard work.”

An Evri spokesperson said today: “We have looked into this further and can confirm that the parcel has been located.

“We have apologised to the affected customer. The parcel is now being delivered to its original destination.”
