Patients flock to state-of-the-art clinic upon its grand opening
PERTH has taken a major step towards becoming Scotland’s smile city with the launch of a new state-of-the-art dental facility.
Clyde Munro has now opened the doors on its new SureSmile Studio, after spending more than £1 million transforming the former British Linen Bank site in the city centre.
The Glasgow-based group teamed up with the world’s largest manufacturer of dental products and technologies, Dentsply Sirona to roll out the SureSmile technology, which bypasses the need for traditional tooth braces with modern, unintrusive, clear-aligner treatment.
Dental patients from across the country are already being booked into the Fair City facility, which was specially selected for its central location and ease of access from all around Scotland.
Fiona Wood, Clyde Munro’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “Perth is the first SureSmile Studio in Scotland and we are delighted to officially open its doors to patients.
“The SureSmile technology is a marvellous innovation which will truly transform the way we deliver essential oral care. Utilising the latest digital scanner technology, our patients will be guided through the process by our trained clinicians, providing a dental experience like no other.
“Our studio is located in the heart of Scotland making it easily accessible for most people around the country to enjoy a more modern and unintrusive experience.
“We are confident the SureSmile flagship in Perth will be the first of many in the UK.”
Cutting-edge digital scanning technology which removes the need for time-consuming and messy traditional tooth-impression methods are among some of the facilities patients can take advantage of.
The studio will also allow Clyde Munro to showcase innovative orthodontic treatments brought by Dentsply Sirona.
Clyde Munro invested more than £1 million into the project which has been created in tandem with $5 billion multi-national, Dentsply Sirona, world leaders in the manufacture and development of hi-tech dental products.
François Loiseau, General Manager and Vice President of Dentsply Sirona UK and Ireland, said: “This new and exciting venture with Clyde Munro allows us to bring our SureSmile Clear Aligners direct to a wider audience and showcases our superior aligner technology and expertise to new customers across Scotland.
“Dentsply Sirona is proud to be supporting and leading healthier smiles and best quality dental care throughout the UK.”
In addition to the facilities for patients, a new dental training academy will open later this year within the same building.
This will focus on upskilling and training current professionals in new technologies as well as offering practical clinical training on nine phantom heads, with a view to making Perth Scotland’s premier destination for dental education.
Clyde Munro operates more than 70 practices throughout Scotland, employing more than 200 dentists and caring for more than 500,000 patients annually.
The group has grown rapidly since being founded with seven practices by Jim Hall in 2015 and earlier this year, secured a £25 million cash injection from Investec to fund further expansion plans.
