SCOTTISH legal firm Lindsays has made an addition to its charities and third sector team.
Helen Kidd has joined as a partner and will work with a range of third sector organisations from across the country.
Previously a senior associate with Brodies, she is accredited as a specialist in charity law by the Law Society of Scotland.
She is herself a charity trustee, having sat on the board of a national youth work organisation and currently on the board of an independent school.
Lindsays is regarded for its work with charities and not-for-profit organisations, advising clients on all aspects of governance, reorganisation, and constitutional issues as well as areas including employment and property law.
These range from major national charities to community trusts.
Helen’s experience includes supporting the setting up, merging, and winding up of charities and advising on issues relating to governance, charity tax, trustee training, and dealing with wide-ranging regulatory issues throughout the sector.
She said: “I will be joining Lindsays, having been attracted by the strong reputation the firm has for its work across the third sector and the focus it places in providing targeted, specialist support.

Among the organisations which Lindsays supports with training and insight is the Association of Chief Officers of Scottish Voluntary Organisations (ACOSVO).

This latest appointment follows a record number of internal promotions at Lindsays on April 1st which saw 11 staff – including two new Partners – taking a step up in departments across the firm.
