Final additions to TRNSMT’s sizzling summer line-up announced

Scotland’s biggest music festival has finalised its star-studded line-up as anticipation builds ahead of this summer’s TRNSMT.

Already boasting musical juggernauts such as Paolo Nutini, Lewis Capaldi and Sam Fender, the last additions flesh out a weekend of tunes in the July sun in Glasgow Green.

TRNSMT will mark Scottish star Paolo Nutini’s first official performance in nearly five years.

Taking to the Saturday main stage will be special guest Years and Years, the solo project from the widely celebrated Olly Alexander.

Originally formed as a band in 2010, the It’s A Sin actor now performs by himself under the group’s name, having musically grown apart from his ex-bandmates.

Years and Years have racked up five Brit award nominations, surpassed 5 billion global streams and stepped out on the iconic Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.

The announcement adds to a packed Saturday card already featuring The Strokes, Foals and Example on the main stage.

Indie icons The Strokes are set to make their TRNSMT debut.

Also featured are West Lothian rockers The Snuts, who heartbreakingly had to pull out of their slot on last year’s bill due to a Covid outbreak within the band.

Fans now know who will be kicking off festivities on the Saturday too, as emerging artist Dylan has been revealed as the main stage opener.

There has been plenty of buzz around the Suffolk-born singer-songwriter in recent months, which caught the attention of industry giants Island Records.

The label hosts an array of chart toppers under their umbrella, including Ariana Grande, Drake and U2.

English singer-songwriter Dylan will open Saturday’s main stage.

Dylan, who names Guns N’ Roses and AC/DC as some of her musical heroes, is clearly excited about her place on the bill.

Taking to Twitter, the singer simply wrote “It’s happening…… LET’S GO”

Inviting the superstars of tomorrow has been key to TRNSMT’s plans for this year, with the likes of Brooke Combe, Bonnie Kemplay and Rianne Downey all set to take the stage.

Equipped with a rebellious attitude, riotous British band The Skinner Brothers are the final act to join the fray, announced for The River Stage on the Friday card.

Not blood related, The Skinner Brothers still hope to show their bond on stage.

Formed in 2018, they rapidly gained a following after supporting indie heavyweights such as Kasabian, The Libertines and The Streets.

TRNSMT debuted in 2017, rising from the ashes of T in the Park, which was cancelled the year prior.

It will be the festival’s fifth iteration having taken a hiatus during the pandemic, but fans enjoyed a joyous comeback last year at a later September date.

cinch presents TRNSMT Festival 2022 will run from Friday 8th July to Sunday 10th July in Glasgow Green.
