Edan Simpson captured the footage of the fox frolicking around in his back garden in Sheffield, South Yorkshire on Sunday.
The 22-year-old student’s heart melted when he saw the creature bouncing and running around following the recent dumping of snow.
The video shows the young fox pup sprinting excitedly across the layer of snow in Edan’s garden, while more flakes fall from the sky.
The fox can be seen bouncing up and down on its paws ecstatically before stopping abruptly and laying down on its stomach.
It then bursts with pace back into the middle of the lawn before laying down and thrashing around wildly.
The fox finally leaps back into action and sprints off-screen into the bushes before the clip ends.
Edan shared the footage to Twitter on Sunday with the caption: “Look at this lil baby playing in the snow.”
He later added: “I got some more as he was just gorgeous.”
The video has already gained over four million views and more than 400,000 likes.
The tweet has also attracted over 700 comments from viewers.

“We keep the bottom of our garden nice and wild for nature so we attract a lot of animals which is nice.
“I see foxes now and again but I’ve never seen one playing like that – normally they’re just skulking around.
“I think that behaviour is actually how they hunt rodents in the winter – they listen for mice and pounce on them under the snow.
“He was probably practicing hunting but he was definitely having a blast anyway, looking at how crazy he was going!”
