Supermarket Listings Secured for Pudding Flavoured Popcorn

A PUDDING-INSPIRED treat will be available across Scotland in snack form after Mackie’s new popcorn flavour secures strong supermarket listings.

Sticky Toffee Pudding popcorn is the latest permanent addition for Mackie’s Crisps and after incredible feedback from the pre-launch nine supermarkets are set to stock the product.

The brand hopes to reach more than £300,000 in sales with the new flavoured popcorn which is available from early November in stores across Scotland including Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Lidl, ASDA, and SPAR.

A limited-edition Sticky Toffee Pudding ice cream flavour has also been made to celebrate the launch and will be available this week – with the perfect topping in a free share bag of the new popcorn – from Mackie’s 19.2 parlour in Aberdeen (while stocks last!).

James Taylor, Managing Director of the Perthshire family business making Mackie’s popcorn and potato crisps, is thrilled with the initial response from stockists.

He said: “The newest addition will be easily accessible throughout the country so hopefully consumers that are keen to try the classic flavour can get their hands on it.

“It’s an exciting opportunity for the team to be working with some of the country’s biggest retailers as we continue to expand our offering and bring new experiences to our existing customers while also attracting new ones.

“We’re continually working on new product developments, researching and trying out new flavours, and looking for something new to add a little excitement to the range. Hopefully this launch does just that.”

The crisps will be available at the stores during the following dates: Asda (04.11-31.12), Aldi (12.12 limited offer), Sainsburys (24.11-31.12), Lidl (TBC), Tesco (16.12-01.01) and Wilko (01.09-31.12), TJX (TK Maxx) and Scotmid.

Other stockists include Cotswold Fayre, Cress Co, Glencarse, Diverse Fine Food, Springvale, along with a variety of other wholesalers.

Shelley Reid, Brand Manager said “Sticky Toffee Pudding is one of our few recipes that didn’t need much tweaking from the initial creation and is the perfect snack all year round.

“The popcorn will hit shelves in the coming weeks and the team are really looking forward to hearing the feedback.”

Produced at the fourth-generation Taylor Crisp factory in Errol, Perthshire, Mackie’s has become a leading Scottish crisp brand with a dedication towards making high quality, delicious crisps and snacks.

James Taylor, Managing Director at Mackie’s at Taypack, runs the family-owned business alongside his father, Chairman George Taylor. It employs a team of 50 staff – and recently became Scotland’s third best-selling premium crisp brand following growth that bucked wider market decline.
