Amazon customer fuming after delivery driver puts parcels of Xmas presents in bin – which was later thrown away on bin day

AN AMAZON customer was left fuming after a delivery driver put her package full of Christmas presents in a wheelie bin – which was later picked up by binmen.

Cory Lambert from Leeds, Yorkshire was distraught after finding out that the presents bought for her two children were left in her bin which had been emptied.

The 28-year-old student had spent £83 on gifts for her son Finley and daughter Penny as part of their Christmas last Saturday.

After a few days of not hearing from Amazon regarding delivery, she checked her Amazon app to discover the items had already been delivered and left inside the bin.

Cory was left fuming after then realising that the bin had since been emptied.

She took to Facebook on Wednesday complain to Amazon, captioning her post: “Absolutely fuming! How the hell is this in a secure location!

“No note left or posted to state where the parcels had been left or anything!

“Just been online to check where my parcels were and saw this photo.

“The bin men came yesterday otherwise I would have got them out obviously.

“How do you go about a refund as this is four Christmas presents literally thrown away!”

She attached her delivery notice to her post which shows the four Amazon packages sitting on top of a full black bin – used for disposing of food and outdoor waste.

Since the posting images of the delivery, Cory has been refunded her full amount by Amazon.

Speaking yesterday, Cory said: “I ordered the items. A few days passed so I went on my Amazon account to see when they were arriving and noticed it said they had already arrived with the picture showing the driver had put them in the bin.

“The day before this the bin men came so I knew the bin was empty.

“The driver left no note and I received no notification to tell me what they had been delivered.

“I think it’s stupid to put delivery items in a bin full stop to be honest. Unhygienic.

“I was more annoyed that they didn’t leave a card telling me they had delivered it, never mind where it was as I bag up all my rubbish!”

An Amazon spokesperson said: “We have very high standards for our delivery service providers and expect every package to be handled with care.

“We’ve notified the right teams internally and are working with the customer directly on matters related to their package delivery.”
