Love Islander launches new film to mark 25 years of National Lottery funding

Scottish reality TV star Anton Danyluk has joined a host of celebrities in marking 25 years of National Lottery funding to the UK’s heritage by a releasing a new tongue in cheek video.

The Love Islander visited the historic home of Sir Walter Scott, Abbotsford, as part of the #ThanksToYou for 25 Years campaign.

Hundreds of National Lottery-funded places will be offering free entry or exclusive offers to people who turn up with a National Lottery ticket between 23 November to 1 December.

In the video, the Love Island star takes viewers on a tour of Abbotsford  – a place he imagines as his newly purchased home, gym and luxury spa.

Viewers can see a demonstration of lunges in the historic walled garden and learn of Anton’s love of books.

Thery can also catch a cameo from his mum and her famous razor.

Abbotsford is the magnificent home of Sir Walter Scott, the Great Scott who popularised tartan, saved the Scottish banknote and rediscovered his country’s Crown Jewels.

Scott called Abbotsford his Conundrum Castle and it remains one of the most famous homes in the world. National Lottery funding worth £4.9 million enabled the restoration of the house and its historic collection.

Anton is one of four celebrities involved in the campaign which also stars Derry Girls’ Jamie-Lee O’Donnell takes on a tour of SS Nomadic in Belfast, comedian Ellis James wandering through Cardiff Castle and British Rapper Big Narstie playing host at Kenwood House.

Ros Kerslake, Chief Executive of the National Lottery Heritage Lottery Fund, said: “Over the past 25 years, more than 44,000 heritage projects have been awarded over £8 billion of National Lottery funding.

“Our heritage has been completely transformed. This is our way to say thank you for all your support.”
