Hearts manager Craig Levein insists his team have their ‘mojo’ back following a morale-boosting week.
The former Scotland boss had gone into last weekend’s crucial Edinburgh derby at Hibs with his job on the line following a woeful run of results.
However, the Gorgie outfit collected their first Premiership win in 13 outings in coming from being to beat Hibs, before setting up a Betfred Cup semi-final against Rangers with Wednesday’s shoot-out victory over Aberdeen.
Hearts were held to a hard-fought draw at St Mirren at the weekend in a game that saw the visitors hit by further injury woes, with Craig Halkett going off with knee medial ligament damage and Loic Damour complaining of a tight hamstring.
However, Levein is adamant that his team are now brimming with confidence following a testing start to the campaign.
Levein said: “I feel we’ve got our mojo back and I think we saw that on Saturday. I think we deserved more than a point.
“We were quite patient and a lot of the time our passing was quite good.
“I’m not concerned as much as I was a couple of weeks back.
“On the on another day we could have walked away with the three points but we didn’t unfortunately.
“I can’t complain about the effort the players put in.
“It was a frustrating day for them as well as myself.
“I was disappointed but there is enough good things happening to give my encouragement about moving forward.”
Levein, meanwhile, has thanked the 1,400 strong travelling support get their backing in Paisley on Saturday.
The Hearts fans have not been shy in demonstrating their frustration with the team prior to last weekend, particularly at Tynecastle.
That reached a crisis point in the wake of the 3-2 loss to the Motherwell on September 14 when a crowd of a few hundred protested against Levein outside the main stand at Tynecastle.
However, the 54-year-old has paid tribute to those who made their voice heard at the Simple Digital Arena.
He added: “I would like to thank our supporters, I thought they were great, they were right behind us.
“They were good, even though in the first half it took us a while to get going although I still felt we were positive.”
Hearts, meanwhile, have confirmed that they have received an initial 17,000 location for the November 3 Betfred Cup clash with Rangers at the national stadium.
A Hearts spokesperson said: “Hearts have agreed an initial allocation of more than 17,000 tickets for this match, which we believe will allow all Hearts fans who wish to go to Hampden to do so.
“Subject to demand, there is the potential of additional tickets being made available.”
