Speaking today, his mum Claire, a care assistant, said: “He was away for 10 nights, this ruined his and his friends’ last few days. They have been too scared to go up near the strip so have stayed at their hotel. It’s a disgrace – he’s a good lad, not a troublemaker in any way.”
She added: “He has got a broken nose, black eye, cuts and bruises and also an open wound on his arm where he was thrown on to the glass. He will definitely be left with a big scar on his arm.
“They attacked him from behind as he was trying to walk away to avoid the confrontation. They repeatedly kicked and punched him all over and his head as well
“He has had to travel to the hospital everyday, even today before he leaves to have this wound cleaned and re-bandaged and something put in it to keep it clean.
“He will have to follow this up at hospital daily when he is home until the wound heals, it couldn’t be stitched over.
“It’s emotional stress for him as well callum was attacked with a knife when he was 15 and he doesn’t like trouble. He always tries to avoid it and he’s a quiet young very respectable lad.”
Callum shared screenshots of his mum speaking to the bar on Facebook.
In the series of messages a staff member believed to be the manager apologised for the incident and told Claire two people involved had been sacked.
They wrote: “I would like to apologise about the behaviour of one waiter and one manager which obviously got sacked, it wasn’t any of the security in the incident. I found out yesterday, which is the day I took the decision to sack them.
“I don’t know what to say about the irresponsible behaviour of these people who don’t reflect the personality of my staff.
“I can imagine your feelings and the only thing I can say is sorry. It’s obviously my fault to not detect the way these people can be.”
Stereo Bar have been contacted for comment.
Speaking today from Magaluf, Callum said: “At the the time there were three bouncers surrounding us that did nothing to help, we couldn’t tell who hit us with them attacking us from behind unexpectedly.
“A glass was knocked from the table which they tried to make us pay for so we tried to do the right thing and walk away and were all attacked i was hit from behind and fell onto glass which sliced my arm open and was also hit again while I was on the ground.
“I then tried to get up and run and was followed and once again hit, Guardia came over and attempted to help and they came into the club so we could show them who it was that attacked us.
“The manager at the time came out and tried to cover it up saying it was none of there staff, since the incident the bar have said that the manager has been sacked and one of the waiters.
“When we also showed them the bouncer who was there he just laughed and acted like he had seen nothing.
“I have been left badly bruised with a broken nose. You come on holiday to go away and enjoy yourself but that enjoyment has been cut short. I’m coming back to be off work for however long.
“I’m still getting headaches and I have not had a CT scan, so could have more injuries I don’t know about. I’m only going to know the extent of my injuries when I get home.”
“I’m hopeful to press charges, I have filed a report with the Guardia so I’m hoping to hear back from that soon.”
