Of the eleven that started Saturday’s 3-0 Euro qualifying victory over Kazakhstan, new Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard and Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne are the most expensive.
Hazard is leaving Chelsea for the Bernabeu in a £130 million transfer, while De Bruyne is worth a similar fee according to respected website transfermarkt.co.uk.
Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku is valued at £76.5 million, while Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is £58.5 million.
Even Tottenham defenders Toby Alderweireld (£36m) and Jan Vertonghen (£27m) do not come cheap.
By comparison, Scotland captain and Liverpool Champions League winner Andy Robertson is by far his country’s most expensive player, with the left-back valued at £45 million.
Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser, who is in the last year of his contract and has been linked with Arsenal, is next on the list at £16.2 million.
