JORDAN McGHEE has confessed Falkirk are going to have to show ‘big balls’ and ‘man up’ if they are to have any chance of earning the two victories he believes are needed to avoid the calamity of relegation from the Championship.
The Bairns were plunged back to the foot of the table with Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at home to Morton.
It was a disastrous result that leaves the side two points adrift at the bottom and with their second-tier status hanging by a thread with just two games remaining.
With those matches coming against a Dundee United team still not arithmetically out of the title race and champions-elect Ross County, Ray McKinnon’s outfit have a massive task ahead to avoid League One football next season.
And skipper McGhee admits there are dramatic improvements required from Saturday’s limp display against Ton.
The former Hearts defender said: “I’m speechless and shocked, there’s not much to say. I’m gutted.
“We just didn’t turn up. In a game of this magnitude we had to turn up and turn it on and we never, it’s as simple as that.
“I think we need to win both games that are left. It’s going to take big balls, character, everyone needs to grow up and man up. We have to put this behind us as much as we can.

“It’s been a difficult season for everyone, including the fans, the players, the backroom staff. It’s been horrible.
“We need to pull together for the next two games. We’ve got nothing to lose and [we need to] try to go out and win them.
“It’s been a horrible season. It’s one myself and a lot of players have learned from, we’ve matured a lot.
“But it’s not been good enough and lived up to the expectations we thought it could have at the start of the season.”
