A SYNDICATE of staff from a Highland engineering company have scooped a £99,307.90 prize in the EuroMillions draw on Friday 22 March – after buying a ticket every week for 15 years.

A syndicate of 14 staff from Ross-shire Engineering in Muir of Ord matched the five main numbers and one Lucky Star number in the draw.

The winning ticket was discovered when syndicate organiser, Eileen Logan, took the ticket back to their local Co-op on Great North Road in Muir of Ord to check the numbers and purchase a new ticket for the week.

She said: “My most recent visit to our local Co-op was really unexpected, especially when the shop assistant handed me back our winning ticket saying it was too big to pay out.”

The winners will take home over £7,000 each after they matched the five main numbers and one Lucky Star number in the draw.

Before they began thinking about what they want to spend their money on, the winners celebrated with a drink at their local pub, The Ord Arms.

Eileen added: “I’ve certainly not had a lot of peace at work this week and our boss is very pleased for us – although he said he was glad it wasn’t a bigger amount as he would be losing a lot of his workforce this week!”

The syndicate’s winning numbers for the draw on 22 March were 4, 17, 26, 30, 43 and Lucky Star number 6.
