AMAZON has been branded “disgraceful” for sending a bag of dog food – wrapped in more than 150 air-filled plastic pouches.
Jools Bullingham filmed her daughter continuously pulling out the chain of plastic pouches from a large cardboard box on Wednesday.
The clip, which lasts 30-seconds, shows the “disgusting” extent of the amount of excess packaging the family received – for a single bag of dog food.
And to make matters worse, Jools, from Hertford, Hertfordshire, ordered two bags of food for their pooch Bumble – which each came in a separate box with another stream of plastic pads.
Amazon have come under fire multiple times this year from customers over their packaging policy – with one customer receiving 62ft of packing paper to protect a bag of dog food.
Taking to Facebook, Jools, 51, shared the video with the caption: “Packaging from Amazon.”
The clip begins with Jools daughter Briar Rose sitting on the floor of their home with a large Amazon labelled box in front of her.
Briar begins to pull the plastic bubble packaging out of the box – and reams and reams of it fall to the floor as she pulls.
The plastic appears never ending, but eventually Briar gets to the bottom to reveal a 20kg bag of Harringtons puppy food.
Jools’ pooch Bumble is currently pregnant so needs plenty of puppy food to feed her incoming brood.
Speaking today, Jools said: “I am disgusted by the amount that was there, and I had two lots as I had two boxes of dog food.
“It was more of a joke thing to begin with as my son had a ton of packaging from Amazon that stretched from one end of his house to another, so that’s why you hear me saying ‘beat that’ in the clip.
“I have no idea how long it was but the video lasted 30 seconds! That’s how much there was. It’s disgraceful.”
On social media, Eva Nagy said: “They don’t seem to worry about plastic pollution…”
Leigh-anne Santilli added: “What a waste of plastic. That’s shameful.”
Gem Gem commented: “That’s disgusting. Plastic is massively serious problem today for our planet.”
While Jenny Davis joked: “What was being so protected? A new China tea set?”
In March this year an Amazon customer filmed 62ft of packing paper snaking through his house – that was used to “protect” dog food.
Nick Taylor said the box that delivered his pooch’s food was “big enough to live in” and that the food didn’t need to be packaged at all.
And in February, exasperated mum Alix Pearson filled her entire recycling bin with Amazon packaging – that was used to protect pillows.
The 24-year-old slammed the online retailer for filling her recycling bin with reels of unnecessary protective paper.
