HIBERNIAN head coach Neil Lennon has refused to rule out a summer swoop for Kenny Miller after praising the professionalism of the Rangers outcast.
The 38-year-old, whose contract expires at the end of the current campaign, looks to have played his final game for the Ibrox outfit after he and long-serving defender Lee Wallace were both suspended by the Gers hierarchy.
Lennon played alongside Miller at Celtic during the 2006/07 campaign and revealed that the veteran marksman has been among his signing targets in the last TWO transfer windows.
And he is weighing up whether to revisit a move for Miller, who began his career at Easter Road.
“He is still a Rangers player but I would assume he would be free at the end of the season and maybe that will be something I will look at,” explained Lennon.
“I was interested in him at the start of the season but he decided to stay on [at Rangers].
“There was a slight chance in January again before he had an injury so it is something I may pursue again in the summer – but it is not at the top of my agenda at the minute.
“The only thing is his age, but Kenny has looked after himself brilliantly and has had an incredible career.
“He is a good pro and that is why he is still playing at the level he is playing at. He still has that football intelligence as well.”
Miller’s second stint at Rangers appears destined to end under a cloud after he and Wallace were reportedly involved in a furious bust-up with manager Graeme Murty in the aftermath of Sunday’s chastening 4-0 Scottish Cup defeat against Celtic.
“I don’t know what he has done or what has been said,” continued Lennon. “But sometimes you want a voice in the dressing room. He is hurting and maybe it has been a build up of things.
“Kenny has always had an opinion but he has never been a bad professional and has never disrespected anyone that I have come across.”
